Who is Libbie Grant Ricks?

Libbie Grant Ricks is the pen name of a writer whose real name is not Libbie Grant Ricks. Libbie writes science fiction, fantasy, some soft horror, some essays, and occasionally dabbles in other assorted genres. The Gods Hate Kansas is a blog that will chronicle her fantastic voyage from blundering noob to (hopefully) published speculative fiction writer.

Libbie was born in 1980 in Idaho and has had many jobs throughout her teenage years and her twenties. She hopes that her single occupation will some day be writing, but for now she also runs her own business and sort of mooches off her very patient and loving husband. For some reason, he encourages her to write a lot.

Libbie lives outside Seattle, and loves ponies and doggies. She is not yet published, but is trying very hard to become published.

    Dear Not-Really-Libbie,

My co-producer spotted your review of our book, Mortified: Love Is a Battlefield, on Amazon which linked to this blog.

I just wanted to say thanks so much for reading and enjoying our new book, even though I know you didn’t you enjoy it nearly as much as our first. Still, what I liked about your review was that it really showed how much you clearly enjoyed the first book. And since we don’t have major budgets for PR, this really means a lot.

Since Mortified is such a small, grassroots organization, we rely solely on passionate fans who talk about us online. So when possible, I make it a point to reach out to anyone who supports us (big or small) and express gratitude.

Anyway, hopefully you will enjoy our other projects– we produce all kinds of content (including a new web series)– as much as you enjoyed our 1st book.

If you are ever in LA or SF, let me know as I’d love to put you+1 on a guest list for one of our stage shows.

ps: I hope this is not an intrusion of privacy but given that posted the link I figured it was ok to reach out here.
